Lancing Eagles Running Club proudly present the 2019 edition of the Steepdown Challenge. The main race, which starts and finishes at Lancing Manor Leisure Centre off the A27 (BN15 0PH) will be run over a hilly downland course of 8.5km on trails and paths involving a short challenging climb up to the Steepdown trig point which is at the halfway point. Runners will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views, after which the course then winds its way back down to finish at the Manor.

This popular event is always well marshaled and in case of emergencies first aid will be provided at the start/finish as well as on the course. There will be prizes for the first male and first female finishers, courtesy of the Protein Ball Co, as well as various spot prizes. A 1 mile Junior race for under 16 year olds will take place within the Manor grounds prior to the main race, starting at 10.30am.

Toilets, showers and changing facilities will be available at the Leisure Centre and hot drinks and snacks will also be available on the day. Parking at the Leisure Centre is limited, although on street parking is available in the local vicinity. We would ask that people park responsibly and be respectful of local residents.

About Lancing Eagles. We are a small friendly running club and members of the West Sussex Fun Run League. We offer a warm welcome to all runners and will be happy to welcome new members at Lancing Manor Leisure Centre every Wednesday at 6.30pm.
