Ropetackle Cinema based in Ropetackle Arts Centre has successfully implemented its short term project of showing Relaxed and Friendly Screenings once a month and the initial uptake has been very positive indeed with over fifty customers for its showing of Bohemian Rhapsody in August.
These screenings are specifically targeting anyone with some form of memory loss and are Dementia Friendly. But they are open to all and the layout of the auditorium with lots of room and good lighting and sound has made them attractive to anyone that would benefit from this type of presentation. ElmCroft Care Home have utilised this resource with residents and their carers coming and everyone has the additional luxury of a complimentary cup of tea or coffee at the interval. These refreshments are funded by Adur Masonic Lodge and every screening has volunteers from the Ropetackle Stewarding List.
The next two screenings are : ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’ on October 14th and the Wizard of Oz on Monday 4th November and full details are provided on the Ropetackle Arts Centre website.
